Groove Armada has announced their gig at Scorrier House on Saturday 27th August will be their last ever show as a live band.

Andy Cato, who with Tom Findlay started Groove Armada in the mid-90s, told the Metro that it would be the band’s last ever gig.

“I do think it’s important to know when to stop and to be on the right side of history when you say, ‘OK, we’re going to call it a day.'”

Groove Armada’s Scorrier House show concludes their Twenty Five tour of the UK. They will be joined by 1990s hit-makers Morcheeba, Bristol’s electronic fusionists Dr Meaker and brassy feel-good gang Tuba Libres.

Live at Scorrier House lineup and timings

The set will include some of the band’s iconic tunes such as Superstylin’ and At The River.

While it might be their last ever show, Saturday will be the first ever Live at Scorrier House event. The one-day music festival starts at 2pm on the 27th August.

In addition to a full day of live music, there will be some incredible food stalls, fairground rides and a laser-infused afterparty in Scorrier Estate’s ancient woodlands with star DJ, Indian Man.

Indian Man will headline the Live at Scorrier House afterparty after Groove Armada

As well as being their last show, Live at Scorrier House will be the first time Groove Armada has played in Cornwall.

Andy told the Metro that he is looking forward to visiting Cornwall, where he plans to meet some “fantastic farmers.”

Several years ago he sold the rights to his Groove Armada songs in order to start a regenerative farm and cofound Wildfarmed, which helps farmers grow and sell their products sustainably.

Andy’s passion for sustainable farming is one of his reasons for calling time on live shows with Groove Armada. Tom Findlay was training as a CBT counsellor and he now works in the NHS.

Aside from that, “all of us just want to get on site. In our mind’s eye, we’re gadding around in the sunshine, having some cold lagers and savouring every moment. Let’s hope it works out that way!”
